Follow your dreams

December 22, 2019

We do all dream. Often, we easily forget about our dreams when we wake up. Sometimes, even if we remember our dreams, we dont have any clue why we dreamt about it. So why do we dream? What is its importance for us?

Today's gospel talks about the dream of Joseph. The angel told him in his dream to postpone his plan of leaving Mary because of what happened to her. Instead, the angel ordered him to take Mary as his wife, for a child will be borne through her to be the saviour of the world. And we know what happened. When Joseph woke up, he followed what the angel told him. And the rest is history.

Two things about dreams:
1. God speaks to us in our dreams.
God reveals his message to us through our dreams. When we are asleep, these are the times that we loosen our shields. And as we are withrawn from our own "securities", our sense of control, God penetrates His message . God speaks to us in many ways, but most specially in our dreams. What are your dreams lately?

2. Dreams make us undertand who we truly are.
We learned the integrity, courage, faith and love of Joseph as a person, towards Mary and God. Joseph could not bear the consequences of leaving Mary on her own. Instead, he was willing to take all the responsibilities, to be the husband to Mary and father to the child. It was a test of faith as well because Joseph never questioned the angel, never doubted what the angel told him. In the same way, our dreams speaks something about us, of who we are. Or maybe they teaches us to see the better part of life, what we need to do to become better persons.

And so the message today is to follow your dreams. But dreaming alone is not enough. You have to wake up from your sleep and work for your dreams.

The real purpose of your dreams is not for yourself alone. Not solely for your personal fulfilment and pride. You dream because of the people you care, the people you protect and love.

God has only one dream - you. It's you everyday.

The next time you dream, remember, God is telling you something. So keep dreaming! Find what God dreams for you and those you love. And when you find that dream, follow where it leads you.

God bless!

Destiny

Sometimes THINGS happen almost repeatedly, one mistake today and tomorrow the same mistake you fall. And unbelievably they happen so fast but you can't track them anytime. Seriously! This is really sick! I always make the same mistake knowing that they are going the same route and end in the same feeling.  My heart once advised that the next time it happen it would be a different game, a different feeling of excitement but sadly I was wrong. I still missed the last spark to make the feeling into reality, making the ending open like a movie always creating another sequel to finally seize the whole picture and story. But, maybe there are things that just won’t work out for some people. Instead there are other things that are just meant for them. Well, I heard this from people, and they call it destiny. Crap! If this is what destiny for me, then holy crap! I just can’t figure out how to move next time. Why can’t I just make the perfect move now? I’m not comparing but some people can

LSIs and PUMs found refuge in OMI Retreat House

The Shrine of Our Mother of Perpetual Help (SOMPH) retreat house in Binoligan, Kidapawan City, an OMI-run center has become a haven of refuge for several (Locally Stranded Individuals) LSIs and (Persons Under Monitoring) PUMs under the care of city government of Kidapawan. Since last year, the shrine has been accepting individuals and families under quarantine during the event of the pandemic.        Through the joint program of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate (OMI) and Kidapawan City government, LSIs and PUMs are quarantined in the OMI retreat house, identified as one of the quarantine centers. In Kidapawan City, only a number of centers have been assigned for such delicate role of accepting person under quarantine.        The decision was made by Bp. Charlie Inzon, OMI, the apostolic vicar of Jolo Vicariate, who was then the OMI provincial superior during their meeting with Mayor Joseph Evanghelista of Kidapawan City, early last year. It was a huge decision for the OMI congrega
