The Greatest

If the avengers and justice league were true and were called by God as his 12 apostles to preach the good news to all nations, to give sight to the blind, to drive out demons, to protect the afflicted, to heal the sick, to bring peace; what would this world be like?
They do not only possess great powers, but they are also superheroes above all. But they are nothing but mere products of a creative mind. If Jesus had chosen and created them for real, things could have been a lot easier or worse, perhaps.
God is a wonderful God, for instead of strong and powerful superheroes, he chose the powerless, and the weak. He chose you; he chose me; and he chose every one of us. God simply wants us to know that even the weakest person, even the most ordinary, the powerless can do extraordinary things. Hence, Jesus taking a child to address the argument among His disciples of who’s the greatest.
It is important to be aware that in our life there is always the big tendency to become proud arrogant, self-righteous and bigheaded especially when we eventually think that we alone are powerful; when fame, recognition, celebrity, and reputation get into our minds. When we no longer preach about Jesus, and preach about ourselves instead. And when we become a hindrance for people to approach God, to go to Church because of our self-invested interests – thinking that we are the greatest, indispensable.
Humility is expensive nowadays. Different leaders of the world are competing in all aspects of power, nuclear weapon, technology advancement, popularity, and etc. Even in the Church, Bishops competing with one another, priests bragging about their latest achievements, and etc.
How many times have we practiced self-lessness? Do we always think only of our own good? In our everyday dealing, are we sensitive enough to be thankful for what is being served to us? Or do we seek the best treatment?
Human beings are full of limitations and boundaries. But we are called to be perfect with all our imperfections. Humility stems from understanding who God is and who we are. He alone is the greatest.
Paul writes to the Philippians “Humbly regard others more important than yourselves, each looking out not for his own interests, but everyone for those of others”. We are called to be sensitive to the needs of others and help them as possible. Then we will feel joy in others progress. Let our joy be in the growth of others. Christ the real model of love gives us the model of humility and service. Let us try to grow being humble in all our life situations.
Pope Francis in his homily during the beatification of Pope John Paul I shares: “We can follow the Lord for any number of reasons. Some of these, it must be acknowledged, are worldly. A prefect religious exterior can serve to hide the mere satisfaction of one’s own needs, the quest of personal prestige, the desire for a certain social status or to keep things under control, the thirst for power and privilege, the desire for recognition and so on. This happens even nowadays among Christians. Yet that is not the style of Jesus. That cannot be the style of his disciples and of his Church. If anyone follows Jesus with this kind of self-interest, he or she has taken the wrong path.”

Destiny

Sometimes THINGS happen almost repeatedly, one mistake today and tomorrow the same mistake you fall. And unbelievably they happen so fast but you can't track them anytime. Seriously! This is really sick! I always make the same mistake knowing that they are going the same route and end in the same feeling.  My heart once advised that the next time it happen it would be a different game, a different feeling of excitement but sadly I was wrong. I still missed the last spark to make the feeling into reality, making the ending open like a movie always creating another sequel to finally seize the whole picture and story. But, maybe there are things that just won’t work out for some people. Instead there are other things that are just meant for them. Well, I heard this from people, and they call it destiny. Crap! If this is what destiny for me, then holy crap! I just can’t figure out how to move next time. Why can’t I just make the perfect move now? I’m not comparing but some people can ...
